We’re featuring my girl Tianalia this month on PolynesianCommunity.org! She’s tearing it up at OHS this season. Check out the article I wrote on her (and the fun pics). Good job T!!! http://www.polynesiancommunity.org/_/POLY_PREP.html
I interviewed QB Matt Barkley this morning on the steps of Heritage Hall at USC. What a beautiful campus! Of all the college and pro athletes I’ve interviewed, he’s one of the most relaxed, down to earth guys I’ve met. I’m looking forward to profiling him for the Summer issue of Sports Spectrum Magazine. Hopefully he did well on his spanish mid-term after the interview! Go Matt!
How long does it take to upload six years worth of articles? I’m scared to find out.
I just found out that a few of my sports devotionals were chosen to be published in a sports devotional book called “Power Up” by my former editor at Sports Spectrum, Dave Branon. How cool is that?!
Here’s a fun little sports devo to help start your day:-) Just click the image a few times to enlarge.
The legendary Tony Hawk is one of the most down-to-earth athletes I’ve ever interviewed. It’s not surprising that this cutting-edge dude runs a multi-billion dollar empire, or that he has 1.5 million followers on Twitter. http://www.clickoncarlsbad.com/Stories/hawk.html
I interviewed former Chargers punter Darren Bennett last week–what a cool guy! He and his wife run a great foundation in the San Diego area and he’s still helping bring Aussie punters into the NFL. Bennett is responsible for introducing the pooch punt into the league. I’ll post the article once it’s published:)
Out of Uniform- Winter 2010 I’ve been highlighting the foundation and charity work of today’s biggest sports stars for the past few years in my column “Out of Uniform.” Check out the Winter issue featuring Tampa Bay Buccaneer player/vets Ryan Nece, Will Allen, Shelton Quarles, Earnest Graham, and Cleveland Browns receiver Mike Furrey. What a great group of guys !
